Project Overview:
The Bellingham Housing Authority is constructing 4-story mixed-use building which includes affordable housing in the Samish neighborhood of Bellingham.
Scope of services provided:
GeoTest organized subsurface soil and groundwater explorations. Laboratory testing was conducted on site soil samples to determine engineering characteristics. GeoTest provided a written report and geotechnical engineering recommendations to aid in the project design. Topics covered in the report included general geologic and subsurface conditions, as well as findings and recommendations pertaining to earthwork, site preparation, fill, compaction, wet weather earthwork, foundation support, seismic design considerations, post-construction settlement, concrete slab-on-grade construction, drainage, resistance to lateral loads, temporary/permanent slope stability, utilities, temporary shoring, stormwater infiltration, and construction monitoring.
